The New York Jets will start Ryan Fitzpatrick against the New Orleans Saints.
Fitzpatrick has been playing well lately, going 8-of-12 for 94 yards and a touchdown and a interception in a 17-13 victory.
The Jets are now 7-1 and leading the NFC South.
Ryan Fitzpatrick’s first career start in the NFL will be the first since the 2009 season, when he went 12-of20 for 169 yards with three touchdowns.
Fitzpatrick is the only quarterback to start for both the Jets and Saints since 2002.
Fitzpatrick’s NFL debut is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 10 at 6:05 p.m.
Ryan Tannehill is also expected to be active against the Saints.
Tannehills NFL debut will be Sept. 17 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Ryan Mallett is also set to play against the Falcons.
Taneles debut will not be until Sept. 30 against the Baltimore Ravens.
