Auto parts giant Gomez Automotive Group is building a new manufacturing plant in Mexico that will make parts for BMWs, Mercedes-Benz cars and other luxury vehicles.
Gomez Automotive is one of the world’s biggest automotive suppliers and has invested $1 billion in a plant in Jalisco, Mexico, which is a major auto assembly hub.
The company has already made its mark in the Mexican market by selling a range of high-quality vehicles including the Mercedes-AMG S550 sedan.
The Jalisco plant is one example of the $20 billion Gomez Automobile is investing in manufacturing plants around the world.
In addition to Jalisco alone, Gomez Automobiles is also expanding production of its vehicles in China and the United Arab Emirates.
The new plant will produce parts for all of the vehicles and will be located in the Jalisco area.
The Mexican automaker has also made significant investments in its local auto manufacturing industry.
In September, Gomez invested $2 billion in an expansion of its plant in Chihuahua and announced plans to invest $2.6 billion in the future of its factory in Jaltecantlán, Mexico.
