The Auto Parts & Automotive Group is cutting 1,500 jobs at its Bedford, N.Y., headquarters and a facility in Queens.
The company will shutter the Bedford facility and the Queens facility.
It will lay off 500 people.
The company said in a statement it will retain 100 workers in the Bedford and Queens facilities.
The Bedford plant will be closed for approximately one year.
The Bedford plant employs more than 1,200 people.
It’s the latest announcement in a string of layoffs announced by the New York-based company.
In December, the company said it will layoff 1,300 workers at its plant in Woodstock, N,N.Y. The Woodstock facility employs about 1,000 people.
In January, the New Jersey-based auto parts maker said it would layoff about 1.1,000 workers in its manufacturing facility in Woodland Hills, N., after a series of bad years in the state.
